POINT PLEASANT — Rev. Charles Lewis Frum, 89, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Hospital, with family at his side. He was retired pastor with the United Methodist Church, serving 40 plus years. Charles was born May 5, 1924 in Randolph County, a son to the late Wilbert and Mary (Gordon) Frum. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Sylvia Jean (Wolfe) Frum; other family members preceding: sisters, Grace Markley, Ethel Foster, Delsia Frum, Opal Frum; brothers, Oscar Frum, Acie Frum, Davis Frum; grandchildren, James Lewis Frum and Kylie Elizabeth Woods.
Charles is survived by his children, Lewis Frum and Lois Frum, both of Point Pleasant, Rev. John and D.D. Frum, of Harrisville, Rev. Wayne and Lynn Frum, of Bunker Hill, Patricia and Tim Bissell, of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jessie Dale and Shelia Frum; two sisters, Anna and Robert Shingleton and Martha and Bud Forte, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss him.
Charles was a WWII veteran, having served in the European Theater. Also, while in the service, he served with combat engineers and was at Normandy on June 6, 1944.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2014, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2014, at Heights United Methodist Church, 2016 North Main Street, Point Pleasant. The service will be conducted by two of Rev. Charles' sons, Rev. John Frum and Rev. Wayne Frum. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, with full military honors being provided by the American Legion, Mason County Post #23.
