MASON — Velma Naomi Luckeydoo, 91, of Mason, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 30, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Point Pleasant, W.Va.

She was the daughter of the late Revna and Vida King of Point Pleasant, W.Va. She is also preceeded in death by her husband, Alva Luckeydoo. Velma retired from Lakin State Hospital in Lakin, W.Va.

She is survived by her sons, Larry (Karen) Luckeydoo of Point Pleasant W.Va. and Roger (Paulette Sue) Luckeydoo of Delaware Ohio; grandchildren, Larry (Melissa) Luckeydoo ll of Point Pleasant W.Va., Philip (Sharee) Luckeydoo of Rodney, Ohio; Dr. Amy Luckeydoo Moats, MD (Dr.Robert Moats, PhD) of Chillicothe, Ohio, Dr. Lee Luckeydoo Dreese, PhD (John J. Dreese) of Fort Worth, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger sister, Patsy King Shinn of Point Pleasant, W.Va., and a younger brother, Nickolas King of Racine Ohio.

There will be a one day service on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Foglesong-Roush Funeral Home in Mason, W.Va. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Edin of Mason United Methodist Church in Mason, W.Va. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. and the service will start at 11 a.m. following to the Kirkland Cemetery in Lakin, W.Va.
