RACINE — Russell "Rusty" Junior Tucker, 62, of Racine, left this world of pain and suffering at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013, in the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born December 23, 1950, in Robertsburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Clyde and Icie M. Birchfield Tucker.
After thirty three years of service he retired from the Meigs County Highway Department where was a road foreman and bridge inspector. He was a member of the Racine Volunteer Fire Department, and he loved working with wood and being outside. The family would like to thank the staff of the Holzer fourth floor for the care they received during this trying time.
Rusty is survived by his loving wife Connie Mae Bush Tucker and they have one son, Cody Aaron Trucker, an E.M.T. and also a member of the Racine Volunteer Fire Department. His mother-in-law, Violet Bush, of Racine, a brother, Glenn Tucker of Racine, four sisters, Anna (Phillip) Wolfe of Racine, Christina (Gary) Hickman of Lucasville, Ohio, Rebekah Hall of Silver City, North Carolina, and Cynthia (Mike) Capehart of Racine, sisters-in-law, Darla Tucker, of Racine, and Elfredia Tucker, of Evanston, Wyoming, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Rusty is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Pastor Lawrence Bush, five brothers, James, Robert, Gary, Thomas, and Terry Tucker, and one sister, Bonnie Walker.
Funeral services, with full firefighter honors, will be held at noon, on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, in the Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine. Rev. Jim Corbit and Rev. James Satterfield will officiate. Active casketebearers will be the members of the Racine Fire Department. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. A firefighters memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
