Robert "Bob" Dayton Reiber, 91, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, at his residence. He was born Sept. 16, 1922, in Letart, Ohio, to the late Castine and Della "Davis" Reiber.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 23 years of service. Bob was a faithful member of the Forest Run United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed his woodworking shop and playing Euchre. He was a member of the Tuppers Plains VFW post 9053 and DAV.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Wilma; sons Randy (Frances) Reiber, of Racine, and Terry (Judy) Reiber, of Reedsville, Ohio; grandchildren Rachel Perdew, of Pataskala, Ohio, Vince (Tonia) Reiber, of Racine, Jessica Reiber, of Palatka, Fla., Robert (Amy) Reiber, of Wellston, and Russell Reiber, of Racine; five great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special "daughter" Phyllis (Harry) Parker and "son" Dick Gross.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary Sayre, Margaret Johnson, Ruth Sayre and Cora Wright; and brothers George, Eber and Fred Reiber
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Carmel Cemetery near Racine with Pastor Wesley Thoene officiating.
Military graveside rites will be presented by the VFW and American Legion.
Arrangements are under the care of the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
