LEBANON, Ohio — Richard Anthony Shockley, 52, of Lebanon, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, with family at his side at Cedarview Healthcare Center. Richard was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Aug. 1, 1961, to the late Harry W. and Shirley N. Shockley.
Richard leaves to mourn a beloved son, Richard Anthony Shockley Jr. of Seattle; one brother, Michael Shockley, of Honolulu; sisters, Patricia Rippy (Julius), of Lebanon, and Anita Tole, of Columbus, Ohio; nieces Jeanine Sipp (Coree), of Loveland, Ohio, Naomi DeMarco (Jonathan) and Deanna Rippy, of Cincinnati, Gabriella Tole, of Columbus, and LaToya Tole, of Lantana, Fla.; nephew Jordan Tole, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; loving aunts Mary Jones and Alzona Holmes, of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of other family and friends.
Richard spent most of his young years in Dayton, where he attended Roth High School. His ever-searching desires took him around the country. He settled in Seattle, where, as a single parent, raised his son who was his pride and joy. He became a member of Christian Faith Center in Federal Way, Wash., where he came to know and serve his Lord and Savior until his failing health dictated his sister bringing him to Ohio to care for him.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, by Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens in Gallipolis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Miami Valley in Dayton.
