WATERLOO — Wade E. Miller Sr., 79, of Waterloo, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at his Ohio 141 residence.
Born Nov. 23, 1934, in Glendale Springs, N.C., he was the son of the late Mart and Belva Phillips Miller.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a former member of the Operating Engineers Union. Wade was a also a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving is his wife, Jane Saunders Miller; daughter Michelle Englehart, of Ellabelle, Ga.; son Wade (Che-hona) Miller Jr., of Patriot; three grandchildren, Torrie Jade Miller, Natasha Marie Miller and Bryton Wade Miller; great-grandson and "Pappy's Little Man," Landyn Wade Pearson; sisters Edith Jarvis, of South Point, Aileen LeVitre, of Patriot, and Teresa (Phillip) Doughman, of Wilmington, N.C.; a special niece who was raised in the home as a sister, Carol Miller, of Waterloo; very special friends Tiffany and Kara McCormick, of Gallipolis; two loving brothers-in-law, Wayne Saunders and Harvey Saunders, both of Patriot; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Grady and Dorothy Miller in infancy; and by a brother, Harold Miller.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at McDaniel Crossroads Pentecostal Church. Officiating will be pastors Ron Henderson and David Hinson. Interment will be in Flagsprings Cemetery. Friends may call between 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Cremeens Funeral Chapel. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
