William A. Simpler Jr.

1938 - 2017

CHESTERTOWN - William A. Simpler Jr., born March 6, 1938, passed away June 8, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Edna and William Simpler Sr.; his two sons, William and Joseph Simpler; and a grandson, Jonathan Orff.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 21 years, Joan Simpler; three brothers, Kenneth, Garey and David; his children, Crystal Rodriguez, Cindy Wood, Missy Orff and Fred Collins; and six grandchildren, Hope Delfino, Joseph Simpler, Stacey Andrew, Justin Wood, Bethany Wood and Brandon Orff. He has left and loved all of his great-grandchildren as well.
He was born and raised on a small farm in Church Hill, where he worked from an early age alongside his parents.
William, better known to most as "Sonny," owned and operated Simpler Excavating for 50-puls years until he fully retired in 2016. He enjoyed being a member of the LICA Committee in his younger days and traveling with his wife Joan to the yearly conventions. He enjoyed good food and spending time with family and rabbit hunting. He has had many joys in life, but family was his greatest of all.
