James D. "Jim" Schroll(1954 - 2012)

James D. Schroll, 58, of Beardstown, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at his home.
He was born July 29, 1954, in Beardstown, the son of Fred and Irene Cline Schroll. He married Kellie Sumner on Dec. 12, 1984, in Beardstown.
Surviving is his wife, Kellie Schroll of Beardstown; his daughter, Amanda (husband, Nick) Hetzler of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, James "Alex" Schroll and Doug Schroll, both of Nashville, Tenn.; his grandson, Reid Hetzler; one brother, Rick Schroll of Beardstown; two sisters, Cathy (husband, Paul) West of Spring Green, Wis., and Kim (husband, Dave) Jones of Virginia; his mother-in-law, Kay Sumner of Beardstown; two sisters-in-law, Michele (husband, Joe) Wherley of Beardstown and Lora (husband, Steve) Hand of Pleasant Plains; and several nephews and nieces, Travis and Kaleb Schroll, Phillip Hageman, Clint and Chad Wherley, Aaron Hand, Jenna Zielinski and Jennifer Freidinger. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Ellie Sumner.
Jim graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1972 and from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 1988 and became a certified public accountant in 1991. He volunteered his time and services to many local clubs and committees including Beardstown Little League, BHS TAC, Beardstown Chamber of Commerce and Beardstown Fall Fun Festival. Jim enjoyed boating, waterskiing, cooking and fixing anything, but most of all, he loved and cherished his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown, with cremation rites following. The family will meet with friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials have been suggested to the Beardstown Elks Club 1007 or Beardstown High School TAC.
