Kenny Evans, 67, of Winchester passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born July 21, 1945, in Pittsfield to Herman and Freda Ralaford Evans.
He married Paula Treece in 1973.
Kenny attended Winchester schools and served his country in the U.S. Navy
from 1963 until 1967, serving on the USS Bauer.
He was a member of the Teamsters Local 916 working for Freesen Inc., retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Winchester American Legion Post 442, the Moose Lodge and the Good Guys Car Club.
Kenny was an avid race fan, and a talented artist, enjoying painting and drawing. He loved to eat out and to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Paula, at home; his mother, Freda Evans of Winchester; son, Jason (Amy) Evans of Jacksonville; daughters, Holley (Scot) Esmay of Clovis, Calif., and Heidi Megginson (fiancé Rod Goetze) of Jacksonville. Eight grandchildren: Jeffery, Reece, Haley, Heather, Danielle, Ally, Dillon, and Gabe; and his brother, Jim (Beverly) Evans of White Hall, also survive. He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. The family will meet friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery where military honors will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to the Winchester EMS or Scott County Nursing Center.
