Warren O. Brown Sr.(1937 - 2013)

Warren O. Brown Sr., 75, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Dec. 15, 1937, in Marshall, Mo., the son of George Duwe and Bessie Estelle Kuhn Brown. He married Ruth Ann Curran on Nov. 25, 1967, in Kansas City, Mo., and she preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2013.

Warren is survived by two sons, Warren (wife, Phyllis) Brown Jr. of Grandview, Mo., and Robert W. Brown of Jacksonville; one daughter, Barbara (husband, Mark) Meinhardt of Shawnee, Kan.; one stepdaughter, Rachele (husband, Todd) Hayes of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren, Jodi (husband, Mark) Anderson, Joshua Orris (special friend, Deidre Nicholson), Amber Beauchamp, Alex Beauchamp, Jack Hileman, Ashley Brown, Tayler Brown, Shaun Brown, Robert Brown Jr. and Chad Brown; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Ballew and Evelyn Conn, both of Bonner Springs, Kan., and Bonnie Caldwell of Jacksonville; and one brother, Wayne Brown of Albuquerque, N.M. He was preceded in death by his father, George Brown; mother and stepfather, Estelle and Ray Benson; one son, George W. Brown; and one brother, George D. Brown.

Warren owned and operated Top Hat Chimney Sweep and Restoration in Jacksonville. He previously was a brick mason for Mid-Continental Waterproofing and Restoration. He was a member of Community Christian Church and Morgan County Boat and Ski Club. Warren enjoyed dancing and taking rides with his wife, who he adored very much, and spending time with his grandchildren and at the lake.

A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the VFW in Jacksonville. A prayer service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the VFW In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the donor's choice.
