Richard Bergschneider Obituary
He was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Franklin, the son of Fred and Ruth Votsmeier Bergschneider. He married Rosemary McCormick on Nov. 15, 1958, and she survives.
Mr. Bergschneider is also survived by one son, Richard C. "Rick" Bergschneider of Franklin; and five daughters, Lori (husband, Brad) Keltner of Franklin, Lesley (husband, Doug) Hembrough of Jacksonville, Kari (husband, Ron) Cloyd of Chatham, Stephanie (husband, Lance) Utter of Metamora and Valerie (husband, Bob) Williamson of Chula Vista, Calif.. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Hali, Kaci and Kollin Keltner, Sydney, Jacob and Andrew Hembrough, Carter and Parker Cloyd, Jordan Utter and Alexis and Madysin Williamson; sisters, Marcella Smith of Orlando, Fla., and Helen Little of Naperville; brother-in-law, Jon (wife, Ruth) McCormick of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Stassi Dyan; one sister, Agnes Bergschneider, and four brothers, Fred (surviving wife, Ruby of Jacksonville), Jerald (surviving wife, Von of Florida), Albert (surviving wife, Diane of Naperville) and Jim (surviving wife, Diane of Milwaukee).
Mr. Bergschneider owned and operated Bergschneider Well and Pump for 42 years. He was known as an expert in the field of well drilling and was frequently featured in industry periodicals. He was well-known in many of the surrounding areas and took pride in his ability to serve people daily.
Dick attended school in Ashland and was an outstanding basketball player. He was a former member of Franklin Lions Club and Pathway School Board of Directors. He attended Sacred Heart Church in Franklin. He enjoyed having a home full of kids and grandkids, listening to music, cooking, watching sports and "fixing" things, especially his computers.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery near Franklin. The family will meet friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to Pathway Services Unlimited, which has been an integral part of son Rick's entire life. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.

Rosemary, Ricky and family so sorry for your loss. I knew you and Dick from Ricky's days at McFarland and he dug a great well for me back then. Doug has recently done work for us and it is great to see he is doing great work too. In this time of loss, keep the good memories of your life together in all your thoughts.

Im so sorry for your loss Rosemary and Family. Dick was a very special resident of mine and sorry i wasnt there to tell him bye and be their to take care of him at that time in his life.He will be missed very much. We all from Heritage Health will be thinking of all the family.

Lori,
So sorry to see that Dick has passed away. He dug wells for me a few times over the years and of course we knew each other from my working at CIPS. You used to cut my hair as well. Your Dad was a really nice guy and a friend to many. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. Hopefully you many fond memories will help you through this difficult time.
