Alberta S. Moore, 90, of Rushville passed away at 10:48 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born on June 11, 1923, in Schuyler County, Ill., the daughter of the late Everett and Fairy Mae (Meyer) Hillyer. She married Ivan Vincent on July 20, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo., and he passed away on October 25, 1944, while serving with the U.S. Navy during World War II. She later married Bob Moore on September 25, 1946, in Rushville, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1992.
Surviving are five children, Larry Vincent and wife, Retha, of Jacksonville, Terry Moore of Jacksonville, Danny Moore of Rushville, Marilyn Kimbro and husband, Gary, of Browning, and Cheryl Wheelhouse and husband, Jim, of Rushville; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren with a third expected in July; one brother, James Hillyer and wife, Marge, of Springfield; two sisters, Estella Grace Kerr of Meredosia and Nureta Hester of Rushville; sisters-in-law Betty Hillyer of Springfield and Kathy Hillyer of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Terri Schneider; two sisters, Erma Jean Hillyer and Delores Mahnken; two brothers, Leon Hillyer and Alvin Hillyer; and her stepmother, Pauline Clark Hillyer.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pat Clements officiating. Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Schuyler County Humane Society or Hope Blooms.
