Harold A. McLeese, 64, of Palmyra, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
He was born in rural Modesto on Aug. 17, 1949, the son of Kendall L. and Evelyn Shearburn McLeese. He married Debbie Gourley and they later divorced. His parents and a sister, Marilyn Johnston, preceded him in death.
Harold retired as a boilermaker and a member of the Local 137 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union. He served in the Military Police of the United States Army and its Honor Guard during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his two daughters; Lisa McLeese of Springfield, and Krysta (husband James) Welch of Virden; two grandchildren; Griffin and Sadie Welch; a sister, Linda Kilmer of Palmyra; two brothers; Steve (wife Judy) McLeese and Randy (wife Donna) McLeese both of Girard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory. His family will receive friends at a memorial gathering 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Road, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a
