Harold Castleberry, 80, of Jacksonville, and formerly of Union City, Mich., died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
He was born Aug. 15, 1933, in White Hall, the son of John and Nellie Moore Castleberry.
Mr. Castleberry is survived by one daughter, Peggy (husband, Bill) Cook of Taylorville; four sons, Craig (wife, Janet) Castleberry and Tod Castleberry (companion, Linda Jones), both of Jacksonville, Darrin (wife, Chris) Castleberry of Carrollton and Curt (wife, Mickey) Castleberry of White Hall; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers; and four sisters.
Mr. Castleberry was employed by General Motors in Kalamazoo, Mich., for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, stationed in Korea. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
The family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Services will be private with interment at White Hall Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Community Care Systems or St. John's Hospice. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
