HERRIN - James Neil Craddock of Herrin passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, at his residence.
He was born July 4, 1953, in Jacksonville, the son of Hugh P. and Lela R. (Guthrie) Craddock.
He is survived by two brothers, Daniel J. (wife, Jennifer) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Hugh P. "Mike" (wife, Sonja) Craddock of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia A. (husband, John) Roth, and his parents. He also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and special friends Christian Rawlinson, Jaime Rawlinson, Kevin Hall and Roger Missavage.
Mr. Craddock was a graduate of Routt Catholic High School and University of Illinois in Champaign, obtaining a Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering. He was retired from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale after working in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
The family will meet friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Make-A-Wish Foundation,
