ROODHOUSE - Lyle Keith Forrester, 99, of rural Roodhouse had his family by his side when he went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 2, 1915, near Patterson, the son of Lewis M. and Alma Ralston Forrester. He married Claudine Starner on May 10, 1942, in Bowling Green, Missouri, and she preceded him in death on July 23, 1997.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen (husband, Bob) Nichols of White Hall and Claudia (husband, Dan) Seely of Hillview; two sons, Larry (wife, Judy) Forrester of Roodhouse and Randy (wife, Drenda) Forrester of Roodhouse; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Audra Terrell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda, in infancy; two sisters, Dora Owings and Bessie Piper; and a brother, Donald Forrester.
Keith was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 81st Infantry Division in the Philippines and Palau. He farmed and raised cattle his entire working life, worked as a rural mail carrier for a time and at Twin Cities Manufacturing for many years. He was a longtime active member and deacon at Barrow Baptist Church.
Keith was a very humble man and always had a smile on his face.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery near Patterson. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Barrow Baptist Church or Pine Tree Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
