Memorial services for T. Joe Doyle will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, with a memorial mass at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour's Catholic Church. Visitation at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Doyle died of pneumonia on Dec. 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Marian A. Doyle; daughter Marilyn J. Doyle of Minneapolis; nieces and nephews.
Doyle was born in Jacksonville on Sept. 2, 1916, and lived in Morgan County for eight of his nine decades. He and his wife moved to the Twin Cities in November 2005.
After graduating from Illinois College in 1938, he served with the U.S. Army during WWII for almost 5 years. He was active in the insurance and real estate business until his retirement in 1982.
Doyle was always thankful that he was able to play golf from age 8 to 89. First as a caddy at Nichols Park during the 1929 depression era, then as a caddy and member of the Jacksonville Country Club. He valued the many friendships established during those 81 years.
Huber Funeral & Cremation Services in Eden Prairie, Minn., was in charge of the arrangements.
