Allen E. "Al" Ingram, 77, of Griggsville, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 26, 1934, in Alsey, the son of Roy and Ruth Conway Ingram. He married Willa Horn on Sept. 7, 2007, in Van Buren, Ark., and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Tony Ingram of Chicago, Dawn Ingram of Phoenix, Debbie (Frank) Mavel of Kansas City, Mo., Denise (Chris) Pratt of Folsom, Calif., Sione Ingram of Springdale, Ark., Ramona Ingram of New Orleans and Chris (Ramona) Ingram of Washington state; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Sipes of Jacksonville; and nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur Ingram; a great-grandson; and a brother-in-law, Robert Sipes.
Mr. Ingram was a veteran of the U.S. Army, before owning his own carpentry businesses in Arizona and Illinois. He was a member of Church of Christ in Meredosia, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He had a passion for his carpentry work and enjoyed fishing.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Chapel in Griggsville, with burial at Winchester City Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Church of Christ in Meredosia.
