Billie Jean Crain, 36, of Pocahontas, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at her home in Pocahontas following a long illness.
She was born April 19, 1976, in White Hall, the daughter of William C. and Mary A. Farris Smith. She married Daniel E. Crain on May 29, 1994, in Roodhouse. He survives in Pocahontas.
Also surviving are two children, Gabriel Eugene and Emilie Grace Crain, both of Pocahontas; parents, William and Mary Smith of White Hall; brother, Micah Charles Smith of Roodhouse; and sister, Wendy Jane Smith-Wyatt of White Hall. One son, Russell Crain, preceded her in death.
Billie received a nursing degree from Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society. She was employed as a registered nurse at the Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville until 2007. Billie was baptized into the New Hope Baptist Church in Roodhouse. She was a loving wife and mother.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Mackey Daws Funeral Home in Roodhouse, with interment at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
