Harold W. Park, 51, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at 9:45 p.m., at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 18, 1960, in Rushville, the son of William and Faye (Moore) Park Sr. He married Lorrie Arnett on June 2, 1990, in Canton.
He is survived by his wife, Lorrie Park of Jacksonville; two daughters, Kristi (Harvey) DeJanes of Greeley, Colo., and Connie Park of Jacksonville; a son, Donny (Michelle) Park of Zavalla, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Makayla and Mariah, which he was raising at his home; also, Marissa, Makyleigh, Harvey III, Summer, Emily, Ryleigh, Alexis, Julianna, Olivia and Michael II; his mother, Faye (Larry) Corbin of Ripley; his stepmother, Judy Park of Rushville; four brothers, Bill "Ballpark" (Brenda) Park of Virginia, Rick (Susan) Park of Rushville, Monte (Selena) Park of Rushville and Marvin (Diane) Corbin of Ripley; and a sister, Belinda (Jerry) Bassett of Rolla, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father, William Park Sr.
Mr. Park was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1978 to 1980. He was Senior line operator and trainer for Pactiv Corporation in Jacksonville for 16 years. He was also the owner and operator of P & P Rentals in Beardstown and Jacksonville and the Astoria Hometown Market in Astoria.
Harold loved hunting and fishing. He truly found joy each day at the grocery store talking to customers who became his friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Mike Courson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield. Memorials are suggested to Hughes Park in Astoria.
