James B. "Jamie" Woodrum, 25, of Ashland, was fatally injured Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in an accident north of Virginia.

He was born Nov. 25, 1986, in Springfield, the son of Robert B. "Bob" and Patricia A. "Pat" Duling Woodrum.
He is survived by his father of Ashland; a sister, Jessica Woodrum of Louisville, Ky.; an aunt, Pam Schlicht (husband, Kim) of Pleasant Plains; two uncles, Steve Woodrum (wife, LuAnne) of Jacksonville and Brian Duling (wife, Dee) of Phoenix; several cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Jamie was a 2005 graduate of A-C Central High School and served with the Illinois Army National Guard for three years. He was employed as a carpenter for Lamar-Hager Construction Company of Ashland. He was a former Boy Scout and enjoyed playing darts, pool and golf.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life and benefit fundraiser will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dena's Bar & Grill in Ashland. Memorial gifts are suggested to the James B. Woodrum Memorial Fund in care of West Central Bank, Ashland. Private family committal services will be held at a later date.
