June Easley Blair, 82, of Meredosia, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Golden Moments Senior Care Center in Jacksonville.
She was born June 11, 1926, in Meredosia, the daughter of George Albert and Letha Beulah Ballard Easley. She married Everett L. "Bubby" Blair on Sept. 22, 1951, in Meredosia, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1998.
She is survived by two children, Marilyn (Jerry) Truitt of Muscatine, Iowa, and Dennis E. (Becky) Mosley of Farmdale, Ohio; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Mary Smith of Meredosia, George Easley of Chapin and Sharon (Robert) Cockerill of Surprise, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Angela June Truitt; three sisters, Nina Stasi, Violet Surratt and Elaine Hilton; and one brother, Earl Easley.
Mrs. Blair had worked for Trio Manufacturing in Griggsville for 18 years, and then at The Sand Bar in Meredosia for 16 years. She liked to travel and she especially loved children.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia, with burial at Oakland Cemetery. The family will meet friends 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Meredosia Food Bank. Condolences may be left at www.buchanancody.com.
