Lorena Freer Arras, 91, of Greenfield, died at Boyd Healthcare in Carrollton Monday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2008.
She was born Jan. 5, 1917, near Rockbridge, a daughter of Ray and Hattie Barnett Freer. She was a 1935 graduate of Greenfield High School. She married George Arras on April 10, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1984.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Roger and Cheri Bowman Arras of Spring, Texas, and Ronald and Norma Murphy Arras of Greenfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Jana Arras Kincer and husband, Michael Kincer of Cypress, Texas, and their children, Jared, Daniel and Gracelyn Kincer, Laura Arras George and husband, Richard George of Cypress, Texas, and their children, Emily and Ella George, Scott Arras of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Melissa Arras White and husband, Justin White of Jefferson City, Mo., and Ryan Arras of Greenfield. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Arras was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harold Freer; a sister, Elizabeth Freer; and an infant sister, Vada Freer.
Mrs. Arras had worked in retail stores and been a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Oak Wood Cemetery in Greenfield. Memorials are suggested to the church.
