Marie Bell, 87, of Virginia died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
She was born Jan. 4, 1923, in Cass County, the daughter of George William and Lena M. Stigall Scholes. She married Raymond N. "Buzzy" Bell on Feb. 2, 1949, in Greenville, and he preceded her in death April 12, 2000.
She is survived by a sister, Eveleen Ryman of Virginia; two brothers, Paul and Harold Scholes, both of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Walter, Robert, William "Bud," Franklin and Harry Scholes; and two sisters, Frances Louise Jones and Pauline Tibbs.
Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and farm wife. She also was a licensed beautician for several years. Her favorite times were those spent sharing coffee and conversation with friends in Virginia restaurants.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
