Mary Hills Roberts, 94, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Jacksonville.

She was born April 16, 1918, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Adam Edmond and Isabel Estella Hills. She married John Eldridge Roberts on June 26, 1938, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1990.
She is survived by three children, Dennis (wife, Trudy) Roberts, Linda (husband, Danny) Maddox and Tom (wife, Cheri) Roberts; nine grandchildren, Amy (husband, Mathew) Wilson, Alicia (husband, Butchie) Wood, Brian (wife, Sara) Roberts, Shawna Roberts (companion, Kyle Henderson), Shelby (husband, Kyle) Chumley, Jennifer (husband, Rich) Evans, Sarah (husband, Joe) Bergschnider, Stacey (husband, Matthew) Vaniter and Nick Carl; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Roberts.
Mary attended Brown's Business College. A member of Central Christian Church, she was a faithful volunteer in the church, helping wherever needed. She also volunteered at Barton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville and delivered Doorbell Dinners.
Mary loved working in her yard with her flowers and feeding the birds. She placed great value in taking care of her family and her home. She will be sadly missed by her family.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. There will be no visitation. Memorial gifts are suggested to Central Christian Church, Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, or Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
