Mary Wade, 86, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

She was born July 9, 1926, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Lawrence J. and Margaret Hagen Flynn. She married Bill Wade on Feb. 14, 1953, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1996.

She is survived by three sons, Bill, Kurt and Bret Wade, all of Jacksonville; one grandson, Grant Wade of Jacksonville; one brother, Mike (wife, Mary E.) Flynn of Jacksonville; two sisters, Marguerite Bennett of Mattoon and Noreen (husband, Albert) Taylor of Concord; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Pat Flynn, Vincent Flynn (surviving wife, Peggy of Jacksonville) and Lawrence Joseph Flynn (surviving wife, Anna May of Jacksonville); and two sisters, Kathleen Schirz and Helen McGrath.

Mary attended a one-room schoolhouse, Our Saviour School, Routt High School, and Hardin-Brown Business College. A tireless worker, she worked at Montgomery-Ward, Morgan County Farm Bureau and the Jacksonville Journal-Courier before marrying Bill in 1953. Following her marriage, she managed the office and served as a part-time photographer for Bill Wade Photography until her passing.

Mary was a lifelong member of the Church of Our Saviour and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. In her limited free time, she enjoyed volunteer work at Passavant Hospital and the Senior Citizen's Bus. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her husband, and gave of her time there. Mary loved working in her yard and reading, and cherished her family, especially her grandson, Grant.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville, with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Williamson Funeral Home. A prayer service will be conducted at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
