Paula Ruth Tews, 81, of Memphis, Tenn., died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Emeritus at Cordova Assisted Living in Memphis.
She was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Glenn E. and Trilby E. Skinner. She grew up in Jacksonville and attended the schools here. She married Bob Tews on Oct. 10, 1986, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2007.
She lived and worked in various places including, Yorkville, Ottumwa, Iowa, St. John's Ariz., Majdenpek, Yugoslavia, Aurora and Memphis, Tenn.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Dwayne) Stuart of Bartlett, Tenn., and Sandy (Steve) Wyatt of Magnolia, Texas; a son, Larry Campbell of Memphis, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Angela Stuart of Arlington, Tenn.; and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Ruth Bennett. Her parents preceded her and her sisters, Kathryn Ann Robson and Mary Jane Carter; and brother, Capt. Glenn E. Skinner Jr. One remaining sibling is Beverly L. Wilson of Jacksonville.
The body was donated to the Genesis Legacy/Medical Education and Research Institute in Memphis, Tenn., and will be cremated at a later time. No formal memorial service was held.
