Phyllis Lee Thompson, 52, of Waverly, died Monday evening, Dec. 24, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 13, 1960, in Johnstown, Bermuda, the daughter of John C. "Sarge" and Anna Mae Barthel Trammel. She married Andy Thompson on Jan. 14, 1994, in Springfield, and he survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Amy Brame and companion Shawn Stiller of Fenton, Mo., Melissa Thompson and companion C.J. of Springfield and Kristi Brame of Waverly; two sons, Matt Thompson and wife Stephanie of Springfield and Mark Thompson of Springfield; six grandchildren, Malakai of Waverly and Kylee, Garrett, Brenden, Abby and Gavin, all of Springfield; five sisters, Carol Ann Eubank and husband John of Troutville, Va., Jeanne Matlock and husband Don of Carthage, Reannie Neuman and husband Bill of Waverly, Sharon Worthy and husband Ray of Springfield and April Harteis and husband Jack of Jacksonville, N.C.; two brothers, Jerry Trammel and wife Diane of Green Valley and John C. Trammel Jr. and wife Uschi of Eltman, Germany; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a 1978 graduate of Waverly High School. She worked at her parents' restaurant the Cottage Café as well as Waverly Bowling Alley. She was a member of the Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville, and was a past member of Waverly JayCees. She loved to garden, both vegetable and flower, and enjoyed sewing. She also loved coloring with her grandchildren.
