Roberta Oxley, 93, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Prairie Village Health Care in Jacksonville.

She was born May 16, 1919, in Franklin, the daughter of John E. and Flossie Scott Gray. She married Wendell Oxley on Oct. 12, 1938, in Acola, Mo., and they enjoyed 73 years of marriage before his passing Aug. 19 of this year.

She is also survived by two daughters, Patricia Love of Jacksonville and Janet Kay (husband, Dennis) Crow of Oakwood; four grandsons, Brad (wife, Sue) Love of Decatur, Brian (wife, Shannon) Crow of Potomac, Jeff Crow of Oakwood and Jerry Love of Jacksonville; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Peck and Rozella Bottrell; and four brothers, Oris, Lester, Ivan and Julius Gray.

Mrs. Oxley was a homemaker and farmer's wife. She enjoyed crafts and gardening, and cherished her role as a wife, mother and grandmother.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Franklin Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
