Ruth Ann Brown, 70, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at her home.
She was born Jan. 17, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Leo E. and Lillian C. Shea Curran. She married Warren O. Brown on Nov. 25, 1967, in Kansas City, Mo., and he survives.
She is also survived by one daughter, Rachele (husband, Todd) Hayes of Jacksonville; three stepchildren, Barbara (husband, Mark) Meinhardt of Shawnee, Kan., Warren (wife, Phyllis) Brown Jr. of Grandview, Mo., and Robert Brown of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren, Jodi (husband, Mark) Anderson, Joshua Orris, Amber Beauchamp, Alex Beauchamp, Jack Hileman, Ashley Brown, Taylor Brown, Shaun Brown, Robert Brown Jr., and Chad Brown; and seven great-grandchildren. One stepson, George Brown; and two brothers, Leo F. Curran and Charles C. Curran, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brown was a deputy assessor for Morgan County for nearly 30 years. She was a member of the Church of Our Saviour, Morgan County Boat and Ski Club and Women of the Moose. Ruth enjoyed dancing and taking rides with her husband. She loved her family, both near and far, and was especially fond of her grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville, with burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Williamson Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be conducted at 4:45 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or Big Brother-Big Sister of Morgan County.
