Terry Alan Clemons, 57, of Riverton, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born July 12, 1950, in Springfield, the son of Thomas and Kathleen Sharp Clemons. He married Linda Ellrich on July 17, 1971, in Taylorville, and she survives.
He is also survived by his parents of Springfield; two sons, Chris Clemons of Waterloo and Kevin Clemons of Riverton; two grandchildren, Madison and Trent Clemons; a sister, Debbie Cargerman (husband, Michael) of Plainfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Clemons was a 1968 graduate of Ashland High School and attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation in the Bureau of Materials and Physical Research for 34 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield, Ducks Unlimited and the Illinois Association of Highway Engineers. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and reading.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland, with burial at Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of services. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Illinois Beef Association Youth Scholarship Program, 2060 W.
