James Edward Macrander, 54, of Virginia, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born July 12, 1957, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of James E. Sr. and Elizabeth Pearl Odell Macrander. He married Carla Ann Stults on April 8, 2000, in Virginia, and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, James Kenneth Macrander of Jacksonville and Christopher Brian Macrander of Lincoln; three stepchildren, Jeff Stults (wife, Fanchon) of Pleasant Plains, Mary Releford of Virginia and Joseph Releford of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Jocia Macrander of Lincoln, Hannah and Claire Stults, both of Pleasant Plains, and Arionna, Joseph and Gabriella Releford, all of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cheryl Snow.
Mr. Macrander was employed for 11 years at Cargill Meat Solutions in Beardstown. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Virginia
Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia.
