Kathleen A. Dawson, 92, of Peoria, died at 10:58 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at her residence in Peoria.
She was born May 31, 1920, in Carrollton, to Carlos T. "Bing" and Anna L. Sackman Morrow. She married Robert J. Dawson on April 16, 1944, in White Hall and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2006, in Peoria.
Also preceding her in death are her parents and one brother.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas M. Dawson of Chillicothe, William E. (Mariluz) Dawson of Hubbard Ore., and John R. (Susan) Dawson of Monticello; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Hindelang of Alton and Betty Powell of Fair Oaks, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She worked as an operator for General Telephone Company before becoming a homemaker. Throughout her life, she lived in Carrollton, White Hall, East Peoria, Newton Mearns, Scotland and Peoria. She was a member of University United Methodist Church in Peoria. She was also a member of the Scottish American Society, The Women's Society of Christian Service and the AFS Mothers' Club. She enjoyed playing in several bridge clubs and cooking.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilton Mortuary, 2101 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61603. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
