Robert Lee "Bob" Crawford, 81, beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1931, in Winchester, the son of Joe and Nettie Bilyeu Crawford.
A Korean War U.S. Army veteran, he was a fuel truck driver for Helmkamp Construction for over 40 years before retiring. Bob was a longtime member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina Qualls (Larry) of Godfrey and Connie Finn of Jackson, N.J.; and a son, Robert Linder of LaCrosse, Wis. He also has seven granddaughters; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion, Mary Jane Simpson of East Alton; three brothers, Don of Flora, Ray "Duke" of Bluffs and Jerry (wife, Dianne) Bethalto; and a sister, Maxine (Ray) Ghrist of Bourbon, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harold and Bill.
Burial was at Winchester Cemetery. Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
