Kathy Sue Tucker (1952 - 2012)

Kathy Sue Tucker, 59, of Batchtown, passed away at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her residence after a year of battling small cell lung cancer.

She was born in Rock Island Oct. 29, 1952, the second child born to the late Charles "Henry" and Velma (Basham) Osborne.

Kathy graduated in 1970 from North Greene High School in White Hall, and met her future husband in fall 1971. She married Franklin Eugene Tucker on April 8, 1972, at the First Christian Church in Jerseyville, and they have shared 40 years together.

Kathy's favorite earthly possession was the love of her family and friends, and she is survived by her husband, Frank Tucker of Batchtown; her three wonderful daughters, Tonya Tucker, and her fiancé, David Stinson of Batchtown, Tobi Tucker of Jerseyville and Elizabeth Tucker, and her companion, James Filmore of Jerseyville; one special granddaughter, Sidney Lois Stinson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Denise Osborne of Griggsville and Ricky and Tina Osborne of Quincy; two sisters and a brother- in-law, Janice Minor of Jacksonville and Diane and Arby Wise of Springfield; her mother-in-law, Margaret (Young) Tucker of Jerseyville; and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Kevin and Debbie Tucker of Pueblo West, Colo., and Alfred S. Tucker of Nebo; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and spiritual children and grandchildren.

She home-schooled her children, sat with her friends' children, kept a home and worked outside the home as a caregiver, salesperson, restaurant help and office maintenance.

She was a born-again Christian according to Acts 2:38, which will usher Kathy into the heavenly kingdom of God's church under the discipleship of the Rev. Robert Andrew McAdams and the Faith Temple Church of Jerseyville.

Kathy and her husband enjoyed traveling the United States, and was particularly fond of Colorado and Branson, Mo. There was also the camping and fishing trips with Sidney which were special. A few of her favorite pastimes were nurturing her flower gardens and following the Weather Channel.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Robert McAdams will officiate. Burial will be at Grimes-Neeley Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be given to the Faith Temple United Pentecostal Church in Jerseyville where she was a member.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Alfred N. Tucker.
