Marietta Hall Turner, 100, of rural Jacksonville, died Monday evening, Feb. 24, 2014, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
She was born May 19, 1913, in Morgan County, the daughter of Albert A. and Rolla Goff Hall. She married Joseph Andrew Turner on July 8, 1945, in Morgan County and he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2006.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Albert Turner (wife, Carol). She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rolla Fae Turner in 1955.
Mrs. Turner was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and Illinois College. She was a teacher in rural country schools and high school in Greene County. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the church's United Methodist Women. She was also a member of American Association of University Women, Jacksonville Area Genealogical and Historical Society, and a former member of Morgan County Home Extension.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
