Faye L. Fitzsimmons, 83, formerly of Woodson, passed away Monday evening, March 31, 2014, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
She was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Morgan County, the daughter of Jesse and Dorothy Leighton Seal. She married Oran H. Fitzsimmons on Jan. 20, 1951, and he preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1988.
She is survived by one son, Robert O. Fitzsimmons (companion, Beth Kershaw) of Jacksonville; one granddaughter, M.J. Fitzsimmons of Charleston; two sisters, Mary Hull and Virginia Kemp, both of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Seal; two sisters, Eva May Mansfield and Ruth Jones; and special friend Gene Bradney.
Mrs. Fitzsimmons had been the manager at Fabric Land in Jacksonville and retired from the Jacksonville Developmental Center. She was a member of the Murrayville United Methodist Church, the Murrayville American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed baking and was an avid thimble collector.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with private burial at Murrayville Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Morgan County Dive Team or a
