Glen Harold "Percy" Weller (1932 - 2014)

Glen Harold "Percy" Weller, 82, died late Monday evening, April 7, 2014, at Sunrise Manor in Virden.

He was born Jan. 27, 1932, near Palmyra, son of the late Alfred and Ruby Best Weller. He married Wanda Jean Lomelino on Feb. 13, 1974, in Waverly, and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cristi Newingham (Chris "Hotwire") of Waverly, and Wanda Burnett (William "Bud") of Waverly; and two sons, Robert Jennings (Peggy) of Waverly and Grover Lynn Jennings (Frances); 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Weller (Diana) of Virden; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Weller of Virden; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gharold Weller.

Mr. Weller was employed by Caterpillar in Peoria before farming south of Palmyra. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a trustee of South Palmyra Township, and drove school bus for Northwestern School District for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, trap and also was a beekeeper. He affected many lives and will be missed by many.
