Robert E. "Bob" McAdams, 79, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday morning, April 20, 2014, at Passavant Area Hospital. He was born October 5, 1934, in Alton, the son of William and Dora Mae McAdams. He married Ruth DeShasier on February 15, 1953, and together they had three sons and one daughter; she preceded him in death on December 25, 2007. He later married Linda Goodey on January 8, 2011, in Jacksonville and she survives.
He also is survived by two sons, Robert E. (wife, Cindy) McAdams of Bloomington and Eric (wife, Rena) McAdams of Winchester; one daughter, Kelly (husband, Jeff) Thomas of Winchester; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill (wife, Betty) McAdams of Mulberry Grove; and his brother-in-law, Warren Redlinger of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin McAdams (surviving wife, Sue, of Arizona) and one sister, Elfreda Redlinger.
Mr. McAdams had worked as a truck driver for several companies until his retirement. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Life Church in Jacksonville. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, Kenzie, and dog, Penny. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf and Wii.
