Helen Louise Reichert, 93, of Virginia, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at Snyder's Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
She was born July 25, 1919, in Beardstown, the daughter of Harry Burton and Nona Lee Landreth. She married Roscoe John Henry Reichert on Oct. 23, 1938, in New London, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 2011.
Surviving is her son, Jon (wife, Joyce) Reichert of Virginia; her granddaughter, Lori (husband, Ron) Moon of Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Moon; one great-great-granddaughter, Niki Moon; and two sisters, Lee Ann (husband, Jack) Coats of Beardstown and Clarice Bartlett of Rushville. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Helen attended Beardstown High School and later obtained her LPN license through Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville. She worked at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Beardstown and then as an LPN at the Beardstown Hospital for many years. Helen was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs where she also sang in the church choir. She loved flower and vegetable gardening and camping at Lake Jacksonville. Helen's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
