Lanny Lovekamp, 75, of Chatham, died Monday, May 26, 2014, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Virden.
He was born Dec. 2, 1938, to Orville and Lucille (Werries) Lovekamp. He was married to Donna Reynolds for 53 years.
Lanny is survived by his wife, Donna; his mother, Lucille Lovekamp of Jacksonville; one brother, Phillip (Elizabeth) Lovekamp of Athens; one sister, Rosemary (Gary) Vortman of Jacksonville; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Lanny was in the floor covering business for 35 years, owning stores in Jacksonville, Springfield, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Chatham. His hobbies were classic cars and traveling.
The family will greet friends 9-11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1225 N. Main St., Chatham, followed by a service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Clarence Rogers officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Gilead Cemetery in Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Chatham. Condolences may be left at www.staabpolk.com.
