Marjorie Louise White, 88, of Springfield, died Friday, May 30, 2014, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
She was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Literberry, the daughter of Everett Leander and Laura Ethel Miller Lair. She married Walter G. White Jr. on March 27, 1946, and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1980.
Mrs. White is survived by one daughter, Debbie (husband, Mark) Williams of Springfield; two sons, Lee (wife, Nelena) White of Pekin and Danny (wife, Nancy) White of Jacksonville; and three grandchildren, Aaron Griffith, Adam Griffith, and Hannah White. One grandson, Seth White, and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. White enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a passion for God and was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. She cherished her children and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at East Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Williamson Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Hospice. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
