Patsy L. Miller, 60, of Virginia, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 21, 2009, surrounded by her family at her home following a brief battle with kidney cancer.
She was born July 12, 1949, in Beardstown, the daughter of Alvin O. and Dolores Marie Lovekamp Reichert. She married Mike E. Miller on July 14, 1968, in Virginia, and he survives.
She is also survived by her mother of Virginia; two daughters, Nancy Scott (husband, Kevin) of Virginia and Jody Kershaw (husband, Tony) of Murrayville; three grandchildren, Sage Kershaw, Cy Kershaw and Brigadere Scott; three sisters, Judy Dillard (husband, Chuck) of Jacksonville, Vicki Robson (husband, David) of Woodson and Sheila Knisley of Jacksonville; a brother, James Reichert (wife, Susie) of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Miller was a 1967 graduate of Virginia High School and had served as the office manager and bookkeeper for the Cass County Health Department since 1983. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, gardening, raising pumpkins and spending time with her three grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held 6 p.m. Monday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia. The family will meet friends at the church from 4:30 p.m. Monday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church, Rexroat Prairie Fund or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
