Harold Eugene Adams, 69, of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010.
He was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Jacksonville, Ill., the son of Stella June Adams and Paul Tate Adams.
Harold served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and was a disabled veteran. He enjoyed a 37-year career with Qualex in the photo finishing industry. After retiring in 2001, Harold worked part-time at Publix where he made many friends. He was an active member of Freedom Church in Tallahassee, Fla.
Harold is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pamela Jean Adams of Tallahassee, Fla.; his daughter, Dawn Sechrest (and her husband, Chris) of Atlanta, Ga.; his son, Jason Adams of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his daughter, Leslie Adams (and her husband, Chris) of Orlando, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Parker, Paige, Madison and Miranda, who loved him dearly. He is also survived by six sisters, Mary Rose, Ruth Bettis (husband, Mervan), Carole Rose (husband, Paul), Susan Tweety (husband, Bruce), Doris Snider (husband, David) and Nancy Allen (husband, Ray); and two brothers, Robert L. (wife, Marcelle) and Kenneth (wife, Jan). He was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as two beloved brothers, Charles and John.
In honor of Harold, memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301. Visitation will be Monday from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at Culley's MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel in Tallahassee, Fla. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Freedom Church, 2801 Thomasville Road, in Tallahaseee, Fla., with interment immediately following at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park, Timberlane Road, in Tallahassee, Fla.
