Judith "Judy" Rae Bradshaw, 75, of Griggsville, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Pittsfield, the daughter of Clarence and Helen Rader Henson. She married Keith Bradshaw on April 15, 1955, in Griggsville, and he preceded her in death July 23, 2010.
She is survived by six daughters, Tere (Bill) Boes, Laura (Greg) Wainman, Rhonda Crawford and Linda "Bunny" (Troy) Kennedy, all of Griggsville, Lori Anne Spilker of Fowler and Cathy (Bobby) Hawks of Jacksonville; a son, Larry Bradshaw of Griggsville; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Goewey; a brother in infancy; and a son-in-law, Rob Spilker.
Mrs. Bradshaw was a graduate of Griggsville High School. She owned and operated Park View Drive-In for 19 years, before being elected Griggsville City Clerk in 2001 and holding that position until her retirement in 2011. While raising her children she was active as a 4-H leader and volunteered with Pike County Quanda. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and the "Tupperware Ladies Club," both in Griggsville. She enjoyed working jig-saw and crossword puzzles, but most of all loved visiting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Chapel in Griggsville, with burial at Griggsville Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 5:30-8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Griggsville Fire Dept. or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be left to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
