Sharon Fae Killebrew, 61, of Pittsfield, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at her residence in Pittsfield.

Sharon was born in Pittsfield May 30, 1951, a daughter of Charles Dale and Betty Jo Hollembeak Killebrew.
Sharon was a graduate of Pittsfield High School Class of 1969 and earned a bachelors of science degree in Home Economics from Western Illinois University and also earned a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Illinois-Springfield. She was employed by the Illinois Department of Human Services as the administrator and supervisor for staff development at the Jacksonville Developmental Center. Sharon was active in the Republican Party and in earlier years was a "Dirksen Girl."
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Pittsfield, a member of the Business & Professional Women's Club of Pittsfield, a volunteer for the Pike County Special Olympics, a 4-H leader at the Jacksonville Developmental Center and a volunteer at Camp Callahan. Sharon devoted most of her life and working career to the developmentally disabled kids and adults.
Sharon enjoyed playing the piano, singing, especially in church, knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking and cooking, fishing and reading. She enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards, shopping and doing for others.
Sharon is survived by her father, Dale Killebrew, a nephew, Chuck Killebrew, and a sister, Becky Killebrew Walls, all of Pittsfield, in addition to several cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jo Killebrew on March 9, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Pastor Michael TenEyck officiating. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Interment will be at the West Cemetery in Pittsfield. A dinner for family and friends will be held at the Pike County Senior Citizens Center after interment. Memorials are suggested to be made to Camp Callahan or the Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch in Shelbina, Mo. Condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
