Carol Kay Finch, 73, of Jacksonville, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born July 11, 1939, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Laurance S. and Kathleen Long Hembrough. She married John Marvin Finch on Dec. 14, 1958, at Central Christian Church in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2008.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori Ann Finch of Jacksonville and Linda Kathleen (husband, Tim) Yates of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, William Otto "Bill" (wife, Joni) Finch Sr. of Jacksonville and John Michael Finch of Utah; six grandchildren, John Robert "J.R." Finch, Christina Marie (Finch) Martin, William Otto "Billy" Finch Jr., Bryan Roman Finch, Brandon Jacob Finch and Ambra Lynn Finch; three great-grandchildren, Kaleb Wayne Finch, Evangeline Noel Martin and Evander Marvin Martin; two brothers, Richard (wife, Marie) Hembrough and James C. (wife, Phyllis) Hembrough, both of rural Winchester; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Finch owned and operated Farmhouse Consignments in Jacksonville for nearly 25 years. She also sold Avon products for over 15 years and was a member of the Avon National Honor Society. Mrs. Finch was a member of Lynnville United Methodist Church and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed going out for a biscuit and caring for her pets and flowerbeds. Mrs. Finch loved her family and especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the
