Helen R. Wilcox, 103, of New Berlin, died at home Friday, March 8, 2013.
She was born Sept. 1, 1909, in New Berlin, to Otis and Kathryn Wilcox King. She married Albert Wilcox in April 1972, and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; and a son-in-law.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosalie Carpentier of Petersburg, Janet (Paul) Brehm of New Berlin and Ruth Ann (Terry) Bilyeu of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Allen (Beth) Brehm, Kevin Brehm, Greg Carpentier, Brad (Janice) Carpentier, Michelle (Jeff) Lazarz, Bryce (Melinda) Bilyeu, Ryan (companion, Sarah Conlon) Bilyeu and Bethany Bilyeu; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; stepson, Dale (Ermadean) Wilcox of Waverly; a niece; and several nephews.
Helen was born and raised in New Berlin and was a school teacher in New Berlin. She enjoyed reading, knitting and word search games.
There will be a gathering from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church in New Berlin. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church in New Berlin, with Dr. Dan Holland officiating. Private burial will be at Woodwreath Cemetery.
