William Roy Warner, 64, of Murrayville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born Jan. 9, 1949, in St. Louis, the son of Roy O. and Nora Tharp Warner. William was raised by his mother and stepfather, Eldred "Buck" Kachle. He married Rebecca A. Suttles on Nov. 21, 1978, in Toledo, Ohio.
Surviving is his wife, Becky of Murrayville; children, William "Buck" Warner of Bloomington, Melissa Warner of Peoria and Kia Warner of St. Louis; sister, Beverly Wilkins of St. Louis; and a half brother and half sister. He was preceded in death by a half sister.
With the help of his stepfather Buck, William worked in the construction business. He was an Army veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam conflict. He cared deeply for his country's veterans supporting both Wounded Warriors and Homes for Our Troops.
