Jackie Lee Hill GLEN ROSE - Jackie Lee Hill, a retired iron worker and pipe fitter formerly of Plainview, passed away at his home in Glen Rose, Texas, on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013. He was 70 years old. Jackie was born to Modena Munsell and Oscar Lee Hill on Aug. 19, 1943, in Coleman, Texas. He attended Sweetwater High School from 1956-1960. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents and two of his brothers, Jerry and Larry Hill. He is survived by his three children, Rhonda Hill of Fort Worth; Donniece Tollett and husband Ken of Boerne, Texas; Randy Hill of New York; sister Kay Peterson and husband Pat of Burneyville, Okla.; brother Kenny Hill and wife Kim of San Angelo; grandsons Wesley and Walker Tollett and numerous nieces and nephews. Despite having deep Texas roots, Jackie Hill traveled and worked throughout the United States during his construction career. His craft enabled him to work on some of the largest power plants in this country as well as pipe fitting and welding on the Alaskan pipeline. After leaving the construction industry, Jackie turned his talents to the car business in San Angelo, where he became a successful salesman. Retiring to Glen Rose to pursue his lifelong passion of racing thoroughbred horses, Jackie spent the last 12 years enjoying being around his family, friends and all the animals that filled his life. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Santa Anna. Pallbearers will be Jason Rushing, Brad Holbrooks, Jackie Allen Hill, Perry Putman, Pat Peterson and Kyle English.
